Part of this uniqueness is provided by the transportation itself – a classic black Russian Ural sidecar motorcycle, whose history dates back to the 1940’s, armed with specially equipped helmets comprising a state-of-the-art intercom system that allows you to talk to the driver/guide, as well between your companion at all times during the ride.
Under the motto “Private guide with a smile” and covering the Algarve from Sagres, Lagos, Monchique, Carvoeiro, Ferragudo, Portimão, to Silves, there are nine tours available. You can also fully customize your tour whether you want a personalized route, a picnic or being taken to church in the sidecar on your wedding day.
You will discover the best beaches on the region, taste local specialties, visit the beautiful Alvor estuary and the hidden Bravura dam, discover Sagres’ history or enjoy the Monchique countryside, whilst also becoming some sort of tourist attraction, as people often try to take pictures of the bike or simple honk to say “hi”.
Bike my Side highlights includes going where no bus or car can go, avoiding traffic and going beyond the usual tourist circuits by traveling along picturesque roads, feeling the breeze, the wind in the hair and enjoying the views in a unique perspective. You will have no worries about driving, GPS confusions, and you will always feel safe and have all the freedom to choose the stops or attractions to visit.
The private sidecar rides usually last between, two and four hours and range from €35 to €100 per person. These tours are focus entirely on you, as only two people are allowed on each ride – one on the motorcycle, along with the guide, and the other in the sidecar.
